Intoxicated male dies after wandering into traffic lanes of HW 99, CHP says

Stockton Area California Highway Patrol officials said an intoxicated pedestrian was killed after wandering into the traffic lanes of Highway 99 on April 20.

Authorities with California Highway Patrol - Stockton said a pedestrian is dead after he wandered into the traffic lanes of Highway 99.

On April 20 around 10:38 p.m., an Acura TL was travelling northbound on Highway 99 just south of Farmington Road, and, according CHP, it struck an intoxicated male pedestrian who had wandered out into the traffic lanes from the right shoulder. 

The man succumbed to his injuries at the collision scene.

A spokesperson with the Stockton Area CHP identified the pedestrian as a 31-year-old male.

According to CHP, the driver of the Acura TL was not under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. The investigation is ongoing.
