Kings' De'Aaron Fox to participate in Rising Stars game during All-Star weekend

The NBA announced on Wednesday that De'Aaron Fox will replace Los Angeles Lakers guard Lonzo Ball.

UPDATE Thursday Feb. 15: De'Aaron Fox is still expected to play (barring any changes in condition) in Friday's Rising Stars Challenge, after receiving stitches above his right eye and chin due to a hard fall at the end of the Kings-Rockets game on Wednesday, according to ABC10's Sean Cunningham.

Whatever plans Sacramento Kings rookie De'Aaron Fox might of had during the upcoming All-Star break, will now involve being in Los Angeles.

The NBA announced Wednesday morning that Fox has been selected to play for the U.S. team during Friday night's 2018 Mountain Dew Kickstart Rising Stars game at All-Star Weekend. Fox is the replacement for Los Angeles Lakers' Lonzo Ball who cannot compete due to an MCL sprain injury.

Fox is averaging 11.3 points per game, nearly three rebounds and 4.3 assists, in just over 27 minutes of action this season. Things have started coming along for the rookie in the last month and a half, even scoring a career-high 26 points against the San Antonio Spurs.

Fox is also not the only Kings player in the game. Last week, the NBA announced Buddy Hield and rookie Bogdan Bogdanovic will play for the World Team. With the addition of Fox, Sacramento joins the Philadelphia 76ers in having the most participants in the Rising Stars game.
